Thank you for choosing Noverant LMS as your online training service! At Noverant Support, we strive to ensure that your issues, tasks, or requests are resolved in a timely manner and provide follow-up to ensure you are given adequate support. This User Homepage Guide provides you with information on:
- The perspective of a learner homepage.
- Shortcuts to Important Options.
The learner homepage is the first point of interaction for users when accessing the LMS. Knowing the learner's perspective helps admins and managers understand a the user experience when providing assistance or giving training. The homepage can be designed to provide quick and easy access to relevant courses, materials, announcements, and progress-tracking features.
View of a typical learners homepage:
The layout to of the homepage consists of a “Top Menu” bar that provides navigation to the catalog (if allowed), and any personal profile settings you’ve enabled on the right. This menu is always on the top of the page, allowing them to return to the “home” page quickly by clicking the icon.
The “Browse Catalog” option, which is located at the top left of the page is where learners can view all training objects:
This is only if Optional Training is enabled and will provide only the object types configured under the "learner" role.
The next section is a configurable “billboard or banner”. This example has a banner of custom options within the LMS. Learners will typically notice their profile, transcript, and announcements which are clickable tabs that open on a new page for viewing and accessing external sites. This section is entirely configurable by your administrator, using HTML and CSS, and can be configured per group. Please contact your admin if you have new branding ideas for your group.
Below the billboard area, is a “Quick Catalog” bar, this search option gives learners the ability to search for content within their catalog. Text entered here will search across all training titles, descriptions, and tags, presenting customized results for the user on a new page.
Next, learners may have the “My calendar button This ” provides a calendar-formatted view of any task with a date associated, such as assigned training and instructor-led sessions.
The “My Records” tab is used to view the learner's transcript. This shows all of the learner's training records, including past due, completed, in progress, and not started items.
The required training and optional training are covered in a separate article for full coverage and depth of differences.
Thank you,
